meet the midwife

Hi! I’m Danielle McEntee, a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife), and an LM (Licensed Midwife). I’ve been active in the birth community for more than 13 years, beginning my journey as a childbirth educator, birth photographer and doula after two of my own beautiful life-changing home births. I stepped into midwifery in January 2021, beginning with home births and expanding into  full-time work as a midwife at a birth center for 2 years. Recently I transitioned into working with other home birth midwives around the Gallatin Valley, and am now taking on a small handful of primary clients alongside my team. My amazing husband, who has been by my side for 20 years, runs all the behind-the-scenes paperwork, and administrative work so I can spend more individual time with my mamas. You might even see my thirteen year old daughter tagging along, scoping out the career path she too hopes to follow. I have attended over 100 births, and honestly, the beauty of this calling never ceases to amaze me.

I believe that birth is designed to work. The less we intervene, the more physiological birth can succeed. However, there are rare occasions when things don’t go exactly the way we planned. In those cases, I have been trained to manage accordingly. I am NRP, BLS, and CPR certified. I carry herbs and homeopathy with me for mild maternal needs, and anti-hemorrhagic, anti-shock, and uterotonic drugs for more severe complications including postpartum hemorrhage. I also carry other emergency supplies such as supplemental oxygen for you and baby, complete neonatal resuscitation equipment, and IV start kits with hydrating solutions to achieve maternal stabilization, among other essential supplies should an emergency arise.

on a personal level….

I love women. I love birth. I love being alongside women in their journey towards motherhood. I have three incredible daughters of my own, and I understand that the holiness, and power of birth is an unmatched experience that women ought to enjoy, and be proud to claim. I am looking forward to the pleasure of joining you on this adventure!
